(From LID Annual Report 2019)
Our LID Board is active with surrounding agencies that meet, attend and support the goals and activities of the Crow Wing County Lakes and Rivers Alliance; Mncola, and the Minnesota Lakes and Rivers Association. Members attended various seminars on AIS sponsored by the DNR and the University of Minnesota. We have citizen volunteers that monitor Secchi readings at different locations on the lake. We also have volunteers that take water samples and have them analyzed by AW Research. Recently, we have volunteers trained to detect zebra mussel veligers.
This Spring we had a complete Lake survey conducted by RMB (results attached) Since there were not enough curly-leaf pondweed areas to treat we offered individual treatments to members through Lake Restoration.
We took advantage of the county’s landing inspections and one hundred hours of inspections.
